Chicago Experiment Organ Trio

The Chicago Experiment, born in 2025 from Connor Bernhard’s dream of a guitar-led, organ-powered band, brings a bold voice to the jazz scene. Fronted by Bernhard on guitar with his keen trumpet flourishes, the group also features Zack Marks on drums and Andrew “Larry” Lawrence on the roaring Hammond B3 organ. The trio came together after nearly a decade of shared musical history—collaborating previously in New Nostalgia, Bonzo Squad, and beyond—and each member contributes a sharp, adventurous voice to the ensemble.

Rooted in the intellectual richness and harmony of jazz, The Chicago Experiment also leans into the infectious groove and memorable melodies of vernacular music. The result is a distinctive synthesis: intricate, high-minded interplay folded into a groove that sticks, drives, and swings with a fiery, funky spirit.
